Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre
is made up of over 75 organisations from across the not for profit, academic, government and corporate sectors who are united in using their expertise to utilise new and emerging technologies and methodologies to improve young peoples mental health and wellbeing. Research is being conducted across numerous projects, check in to this site for the latest research. Under the NEWS tab there are APPs, research updates, blogs and other references including Dr Michael Carr-Gregg's New Top Ten Apps for Psychologists. Some apps need to be used as part of a therapy program by trained psychologists however the APPs listed below could be used by teachers with students who are taking part in a positive psychology program at school.
Kids Happy Apps
The Apps tab lists apps which focus on helping children to develop skills in building positive relationships, resilience, creativity, kindness and gratitude. For teachers & parents (in Parent's Zone) there are downloadable reports & videos on how to help kids with bullying, sibling rivalry, sadness & how to makes kids happy. Free downloads include affirmation cards.

A Youth directory & App - available free download from Apple App store & Google Play store - allows users to access a range of services such as accommodation, education, legal, mental health, employment & emergency information in the Northern Sydney region. Students can search for individual services, ehat they offer, opening hours, how far the service is from them, a map & directions to get there. They can also search for events which may interest them. This project was developed as a collaborative project by Naremburn & Arndell Schools, Pennant parade Tutorial Centre, NSW Health & North Sydney Council.
